Party Mix Menagerie

imageIn an attempt to stay under my $100 budget for Christmas gifts this year, I have been very busy.  I don’t want to give away too much so I’ll post some of my other projects AFTER Christmas.  Today I made several different kinds of party mix and bagged them up to share with friends.  I found lots of wonderful recipe variations on Yummly.  I’m posting this now so that if you are looking for snacks for your Christmas party you can try some of these alternatives!

Chocolate Peppermint Party Mix

Ingredients

2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
2 cups Cheerios
2 cups Chocolate Cheerios
2 cups pretzels
2 cups chocolate chips
1-2 cups puffed peppermints (crushed)

Directions

Blend all the cereal together in a large bowl. Melt the chocolate chips and pour over the cereal, making sure to coat everything well. Instead of using confectioner’s sugar to coat, I used puff peppermints and ground them in my blender to powder then sprinkled that over the top of the mix. Bag up and enjoy!
